Often it’s not the crime but the cover-up that gets people in trouble. Amjad Samuel, now facing a Title IV case in ECCT, is acting through his attorneys in a way that all but guarantees he’s going to face additional trouble–along with stupidly large legal bills.

Title IV panel recommends Tommie Watkins be defrocked. We agree.

The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama has recommended that openly gay, black priest Tommie Watkins be defrocked. While we have concerns about racial bias in the way the diocese disciplines clergy, we endorse the diocese’s findings and its recommendation to remove him from ministry.
