The following is excerpted from our friend Shannon Ashley’s excellent publication, TrutHurts. We’re republishing it, as it perfectly reflects our reaction to the news.
We’d add that we have zero trust in the Franklin PD and the Christian nationalist regime of Governor Bill Lee. We also think it’s useful to remind readers that Steve Berger, the Christian nationalist pastor, necromancer and world-class whack-a-doodle who hangs out with Aaron Solomon and mega-perv Sam Johnson now lives with House Speaker Mike Johnson on Capital Hill.
While we generally try to avoid mixing politics with religion, we oppose Christian nationalism as heresy. We also are deeply concerned about this development given the corruption in Tennessee and efforts by the Trump administration to disappear critics.
Hey folks. I am so heartbroken to tell you that Angie Solomon was arrested yesterday afternoon for allegedly plotting a murder-for-hire of her ex-husband Aaron Solomon, whom we have long believed killed their son Grant to protect himself against the now-substantiated sexual abuse of Aaron and Angie’s daughter Gracie.
As some of you know, I first began covering Gracie’s story in June 2021 and her struggle to get anyone to listen to her about her father’s abuse and her brother’s unusual death.
It has been so heartbreaking to see the amount of corruption in Tennessee that has long protected Aaron Solomon.
I do not have any faith in the Franklin PD that arrested Angie. This is the same police department I have previously written about when they arrested George Brewer, a former schoolmate of Grant and Gracie, for simply sending a few angry Facebook messages to their school guidance counselor for failing to report the sexual abuse. The same counselor who told an 11-year-old Gracie that she needed to quit talking about being raped… because the boys at school were talking about it, and other kids were coming home to ask their parents what “sexual abuse” meant.
I have long been so grieved by the lack of justice for Gracie, Grant, and Angie. I have even been threatened by some of Aaron’s friends, including Grace Chapel Church in Franklin to quit writing about Aaron’s abuse.
I am just sorting out and digesting this information myself, and trying to figure out what I can do to help Gracie.
I’ll be in touch and make more updates as soon as I can.
