Former Anglican priest, pedophile David Valencia, resurfaces in Florida

David Valencia, sex offender

David Valencia, a former Anglican priest who was sentenced to prison following a conviction for sexually assaulting a teenaged girl, and required to register as a sex offender, has resurfaced in Florida.

Sources tell Anglican Watch that Valencia moved to Florida from Ligonier, PA, after local residents realized that he was working as the chef in “Table 105,” a now-defunct restaurant owned by his wife, Katherine A. Valencia.

Curiously, Valencia appears to be obfuscating his presence by supplying questionable information to the Florida sex offender registry.

Specifically, Florida records show Valencia as residing at 4305 Ne 21st Ave Apt 12, Fort Lauderdale, a low-end rental unit in what appears to be a former motel.

Yet area residents do not report seeing a man matching Valencia’s description at the property, and public records do not show Valencia residing at that location.

However, an investigation by Anglican Watch indicates that Valencia appears to live 6.4 miles away with his wife, Katherine Ann Valencia, address 3500 Oaks Clubhouse Dr Apt 111, Pompano Beach, FL, 33069.

That begs the question: Why would the Valencias need two rental units?

Relatedly, public records reveal two Florida businesses connected with Katherine: Simply by Word of Mouth, LLC, which is registered at her home address, and The Party Door, LLC, which is registered at 6700 NW 28th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. The latter is a residential address, and appears to be owned by Alejandro Araya-Toledo and Jennifer P Gigler.

Katherine is employed by Balistreri Real Estate, and serves as the office manager of the company’s Pompano Beach office.

Why is this data important?

It is important because our research indicates what appears to be an ongoing effort on Valencia’s part to conceal his whereabouts and obfuscate his places of employment.

Moreover, these actions appear part of a longstanding pattern: Valencia first tried to get ordained in the Episcopal Church, then was ordained in an Anglican church. At the time of his arrest, Valencia allegedly was working with children in a PCA church—that’s right, the same denomination as Tenth Presbyterian, which refused to conduct background checks on folks like Liam Goligher, who had a previous criminal conviction on his public records, there for all the world to see.

Additionally, as we mentioned earlier, Valencia allegedly worked for a restaurant owned by his wife while in Ligonier, PA.

Thus, we believe that his wife is a knowing participant in efforts to provide cover for her husband, thereby exposing children to risk. Again—are we supposed to believe that she doesn’t know about her husband’s alleged rental unit six miles from her home? And why rent two apartments? Or, if the Valencias are only renting one apartment, why is David Valencia’s sex offender registration not updated to reflect that fact?

And to be clear: Anyone who sexually abuses a child is a troubled soul, indeed, and not someone who should ever be in a position of trust. And the couple’s seeming efforts to conceal David Valencia’s past do nothing to reassure us.

We also note that both David and his wife are on social media. David is on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/david.valencia.39904. Katherine is on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/katherine.a.valencia.3.

So, in closing, three takeaways:

  1. Sources who have run into Valencia report seriously creepy vibes—even before they knew of his past. Our experience is that gut instincts are usually spot on, so we would be very cautious about Valencia.
  2. Valencia’s wife Katherine seems to be in the know and actively working to conceal her husband’s identity and whereabouts. That in itself spells danger, both as to David Valencia and Katherine Valencia. We would not trust either one in any matter, small or large. And we certainly would not frequent a restaurant or other business owned by the Valencias, or any organization in which they played a key role.
  3. We strongly suspect that Valencia’s information in the Florida sex offender registry is deliberately not up to date, and that he and his family are trying to create a situation in which authorities eventually lose track of him. Assuming that is the case, this is yet another warning sign.

So, use extreme caution if you encounter David Valencia, and do not allow children to be alone with him.
