Anglican Watch has received unconfirmed reports that long-time rector, Sean E. Mullen, of St. Mark’s Episcopal, in Philadelphia, has been fired. We are told that the underlying reason may have involved children.
Per an older version of the parish website, Mullen previously served as Chaplain to the Most Reverend Dr. Peter Carnley, Archbishop of Perth in Western Australia (1998-2002). Prior to that he was Assistant Rector of All Saints Church in Richmond, Virginia (1996-1998).
Mullen is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia (1989) and of the General Theological Seminary in New York (1996).
St. Mark’s is a historic Anglo-Catholic parish, located close to Tenth Presbyterian, PCA.
Neither Mullen nor the church immediately responded to requests for comment.
Has anyone looked at questionable situations with Westminster Choir College choir scholars who had fisting injuries after they sang at St. Mark’s Church.
We don’t know a lot about that issue, but if folks want to contact us via our encrypted email form, we will gladly investigate.
