In April 1995 the Associated Press reported that Anglo-Catholic Episcopal priest  John William Harvey, 56, had been arrested and charged for practicing medicine and writing prescriptions without a license after he conducted physical examinations on 35 boys in a Florida high school football program. Harvey was ordained in 1965 by Bishop James Montgomery after receiving a B.D. degree from Nashotah House Seminary. He was listed as a non-parochial priest of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago beginning in 1982. In April of 1983 Harvey was indicted by a Texas grand jury for delivery of a controlled substance and an earlier instance of practicing medicine without a license. Harvey’s status as a priest after the 1983 and 1995 incidents is unclear.
